The first time I stepped into Sweet Charlie Boutique in Kitsilano, I knew I was going to want it all. Lily, the owner, knows exactly what parents are looking for when it comes to awesome kids clothes and accessories, and she has set her focus on all the right brands. Placing a handful of talented Vancouver designers alongside the best US and International labels (most of which I have only ever seen online), Lily caters to those who are searching for quality goods for their littles.

I believe in quality just as much for my kids clothes as I do my own. Finding unique pieces that are still playful without being tacky (because let’s face it, there’s enough of that out there), AND stay true to their form after washing are two important factors when it comes to shopping for kids. My boys WEAR their clothes, and in turn, I get my monies worth 😉

As the sizes at Sweet Charlie mostly range from 0-3 (with the exception of a few items going up to 5T), I called on my friend Karmin and asked if her sweet little girl would be open to playing around the shop with Rex in fun clothes for an afternoon, to showcase both the boys and girls’ fashions.

First look is the latest fall collection from one of the BEST US brands, Rylee and Cru. Designer, Illustrator and mom Kelli Murray has created this unique, artistic line that was inspired by her life with her own kids. I honestly want ever piece in this collection! The tree slouch dress and black bear long john are way too adorable on these two, and the 100% cotton french terry material makes these pieces both comfortable and functional for kids. We paired Emelia’s tree dress with local brand Hudson + Hobbs‘ fur vest to stay inkeeping with the cozy, fall feel of this look. It’s a win/win for both parent and child!

Next up is one of the best mini-malist brands out there, Hux Baby. This collection focuses on gender-neutral pieces that allows parents to “buy once, and buy well”. Rex is sporting the fleece bear sweatshirt + quilted fleece drop crotch pant (and working it based on the last photo ;-)) made for cool fall/winter weather. So cozy that I want this combo for myself! The simple design is classic with an edge. Their line of falling dresses makes for the perfect, functional playdress, and Emelia did just that 😉 This adorable falling bears print (can you tell there’s a theme here?! lol) is bold + minimal, and paired along side this Hudson + Hobbs black fur jacket, is SO CUTE. I am so glad most of my friends had girls, since clearly I am in boy land!

You can check out the latest collections online here, or in store at 3590 West 4th Avenue in Vancouver (which I highly recommend doing, as Lily is the sweetest!).

I know someone who is pregnant right now so I will pass along the information to her.

Those are some stylish kids! They are just way too cute and I’m going to have to get into that store soon for some early Christmas shopping. 😉
