Family Day Weekend at Park Royal

Our family may not be heading out of town this long weekend, but we are still going to get a glimpse of Spring!! I had chance to swing by Park Royal (which is dangerously close to our house) to pick up a pre-Spring outfit for the whole family. I wanted to choose pieces that can be worn both now, and in the warmer months (with the help of a few layering techniques!).

Scroll down to see how I created each look!

SHOES

I started off at Saks OFF 5TH  and picked up some adorable pieces for my boys, as well as some shoes for myself 😉 If you haven’t been there yet (and you’re a shoe lover like me), you must go!! They have a massive selection of clothes, shoes and accessories for the entire family, all discounted from the traditional retail price.

Metallics, platform sneakers and mules are just a few of the styles that we will continue to see this Spring!

Leopard print is a classic that is always in style. I love the idea of adding a pop of pattern with a neutral look ♥ Combining the two trends is even better!

FOR THE KIDS

Saks OFF 5TH had a great selection of brand name labels, including some that I had never heard of! I couldn’t resist this “Save The Drama For Your Llama” tee for Rex, paired with a great lightweight bomber jacket, and these gender neutral distressed jeans by Hudson. The mini bomber jackets are a great staple for kids, plus they immediately make an outfit more stylish 😉 I completed the look with these highly functional yet adorable hunter boots that were surprisingly not heavy! Perfect for Spring rain or running around at the park. Once the sun comes out, we can leave the boots and jacket at home and still find great use for the t-shirt and jeans.

Kingston loves anything space themed, so I picked up this awesome t-shirt, and it was just over $20*!! Great quality, and great price. I do love to match my boys when I have the chance, so I picked the same denim for both boys. How cute are little kids in distressed denim?? ♥ I love that this trend has made it’s way into mini fashion as well. These jeans were $35*, instead of the original retail price of $60! Lastly, I went for a durable yet dressy shoe that can be worn in several ways. The desert boot is another trend that I love seeing in kids’ fashion!

FOR HIM

Next stop was Simons to select a menswear look for Scott. I am always so impressed with their massive selection that suits any age and budget.

The athleisure style is still trending for men, and I personally love it! There are so many great variations to create. The cargo slim joggers are a great staple, and an alternative to denim. They can also be worn year round!! Instead of a simple white t-shirt, I chose a longer fitting style to combine different silhouettes and add some pattern. Layered with a super lightweight bomber made from a beautiful Japanese silk, and accessorized with a pair of color-blocked knit new balance sneakers to tie in the colour from the bomber jacket. This is an easy-to-wear look for men that is perfect for early Spring, and also great for travel.

FOR HER

Last by not least, and outfit for myself. I made my way to Plenty to find some great basics for Spring with an affordable price tag. Plenty carries a great selection of denim, as well as everyday wear pieces that can easily transition from season to season.

Sticking with a neutral palette, I paired this gorgeous white knit sweater from Free People with a pair of distressed AG slim denim, and added a BB Dakota trenchcoat for extra layering. You will be seeing a lot of trenchcoats this Spring! I love mixing whites with blush, nudes and light beige tones to create a bright, fresh look. The leopard mules from Saks Off Fifth were the perfect way to incorporate another trend and add something interesting to a classic outfit.
